STUDENT VISA

  • Base application charge: AUD 560
  • Additional applicant charge (18 and over): AUD 420
  • Additional applicant charge under 18: AUD 140
  • Subsequent temporary application charge: AUD 700.

Note that as a student, if you belong to any of the above categories, you do not need to pay the base application charge if you’re a secondary exchange student or a student applying for a course approved under a student’s training scheme approved by the Commonwealth to study in Australia.

TEMPORARY VISA

  • Base Application Charge: AUD 280
  • Additional Applicant charge 18 and over: AUD 280
  • Additional applicant charge 18 and under: AUD 70

In certain situations, you may not have to pay any visa application fee. People who belong to the following categories below do not need to pay any visa application fee:

  • People who apply in the course of acting as representatives for a foreign national government
  • People specified by the Minister in a legislative instrument
  • People working in the entertainment industry in an event or events for an organization which is: a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission; a foreign government agency, embassy or consulate; a State and Territory Government or Commonwealth Government agency; a government funded event or organization that is specified by the Minister in a legislative instrument.

Nigerians living abroad, who would love to visit Australia for tourist or business purposes, can use the Electronic Travel Authority, ETA which is available online 24/7. What ETA does is that it allows the holder to travel to Australia as many times as possible as long as it is within the stated validity period which is 12 months from the date of issue. The maximum length of each visit is 90 days.
