List Of Educational Institutions Affiliated To Nigerian Universities

This article is a compilation of the full list of educational institutions that are affiliated to NUC accredited universities in Nigeria this 2024. Some of the tertiary education institutions affiliated to the universities in this list are colleges of education, seminaries, theology schools as well as other degree awarding academic institutions.

You may have heard some people tell you that they attend a particular university in Nigeria but in reality, they attend either a college of education or a theology school and you begin to wonder if they are telling you the truth or not, well, they may not be totally wrong as their various degree awarding institutions are affiliated or linked with these universities.

For the avoidance of doubt, all legal universities in Nigeria are licensed to operate by the National Universities Commission (NUC) through what is called an accreditation so that they can award degrees and diplomas without any problems from the authorities but there are also some other institutions that award degrees in affiliation to some of these universities that are recognised by the NUC and we shall list them in a little while.

If you wish to attend any degree awarding institution in Nigeria that you think is affiliated to a university but you cannot find them in the official list of NUC recognised university affiliated schools, kindly look out for other institutions that have the seal of approval by the NUC regarding this subject matter.

A number of universities in Nigeria have their degree courses running on the campus of other degree awarding institutions such as polytechnics and colleges of education. This is an agreement between the two tertiary education institutions that the university programmes should be run on their campuses instead of the main campus of the university itself. This ensures that the degree certificate you obtain at the affiliated campus is the same as the ones obtained by other students at the main campus.

You should kindly note that this is not a part-time programme but a regular degree programme that is the same as what is obtainable in the parent university, only that the course is offered at another campus in affiliation to it, and as is the case with any other university admission, you will need JAMB UTME to get into the affiliate institution.

If the affiliate institution is a college of education, you should be aware that most courses offered there, if not all, are education courses such as English Education, Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Education Accounting, to mention but a few, and you can go for NYSC after completing your affiliate campus degree course although your service year may be delayed by three years as the main campus will push to mobilize their students every year for service first.
