Full List Of All Land Borders In Nigeria
This article contains information on the complete list of all land borders in Nigeria. These geographical borders are not the internal borders between States in the Federation, but rather international frontiers that our country shares with its neighbours in West and Central Africa. Nigeria is located in West Africa and it is widely regarded as the Giant of Africa. Our country has a variety of natural and climatic characteristics, and it borders many other countries on both land and the sea. Nigeria’s land borders with other sovereign countries include the Republic of Niger to the north, Cameroon and Chad to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea of the Atlantic Ocean to the south as well as the Republic of Benin to the west. WRAPPING UP
There are many different types of international borders, ranging from natural and physical borders that can obstruct communication and travel in varying degrees, like mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, and forests, to landscape borders that result from a combination of political and natural borders, like the borders separating sovereign States, which grant complete control that cannot be interfered with by other governments within their border.
In addition to sharing land borders with the Republic of Niger, the Republic of Chad, the Republic of Cameroon, and the Republic of Benin, Nigeria also has maritime borders with the following sovereign states: Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, Ghana, the Republic of Benin, and the Republic of Cameroon. In order to enable trade, provide foreign exchange, and allow for free movement of people, the land borders are essential to the economies of Nigeria and the Sovereign States that it borders. Recognized entry points are set up to control the flow of products and people through the boundaries in order to prevent the unauthorized entry and exit of individuals as well as smuggled commodities.
May God blessed our nation Nigeria.
