There are many different salary structures in Nigeria this 2024 that determine how various civil servants under many Federal Government agencies and parastatals are paid and we shall take a detailed look at all of them in this article. All salary structures in Nigeria are collectively known as the Consolidated Public Salary Structure (CONPSS).

All of the salary structures in Nigeria today which the Federal Government has put in place to pay its numerous workers that number several thousands of people in the country are designed in a way that if there are two individuals who are on the same rank or grade level, and are working at different government companies or agencies, each of them will be paid different monthly salaries; reason being that the salary structure that applies to one federal government institution may vary from what is obtainable in the other.

The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) is directly in charge of overseeing all salary structures in the government sector. The Commission was founded in 1993, among other things, to decide on a fair remuneration structure for each and every federal worker in the country. The responsibility of the NSIWC to handle the annual assessments of wages and salaries of many government workers employed under the Federal Civil Service Commission is a crucial one. This means that it annually evaluates and analyzes the pay structures of government employees and has the option to adjust them as needed.

CONTOPSAL

CONMESS

CONHESS

During my research to unveil, the reason behind uneven salary income with other institutions of learning of the same status.
