In line with the Federal Government’s initiative to increase the number of jobs for Nigerians, the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWin!) programme was developed in partnership with the Ministries of Finance, Communication Technology (CT), and Youth Development. It promotes an annual business plan competition (BPC) for aspiring young entrepreneurs in Nigeria. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (YEDI)

Youth Development and Empowerment Initiative (YEDI) is a youth health organization that uses effective, tested strategies to educate, empower, and motivate youth and community development in Nigeria. Since its founding in 2011, YEDI has provided evidence-based programmes intended to strengthen young people’s assets, facilitate their access to health services, and encourage their adherence to healthy behaviours. More than 300,000 young people in schools and community sites in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Akwa-Ibom, Ogun, and Rivers States have benefitted from this.

The YEDI program prepares young adults between the ages of 10 and 35 to serve as community change agents by implementing gender and age appropriate curriculum that incorporate football metaphors and activities with high-impact health information to engage youngsters and dissolve cultural barriers. Young people aged 10 to 24 are provided with engaging sport-based activities as well as health and social services across the adolescent continuum of care at fixed and outreach facilities provided by YEDI.
