Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, widely known by his stage name, Zlatan Ibile is a singer, songwriter, stage performer, entertainer, dancer, rapper and recording artiste. In this post, we shall look at his biography, net worth, endorsements and more.
Zlatan Ibile was born on December 19, 1994 in Lagos State and he is from Ekiti State in the South-West of Nigeria. His music genres include rap, afropop and afro beat. A fast rising Nigerian music talent, just like Naira Marley, he has come to stay in the Nigerian entertainment industry as his unique gift has become very visible for music lovers all over the country to see.
Zlatan Ibile introduced a dance move of his own called Zanku “Leg Work” in a country which boasts numerous dance routines and it has ranked favourably with the others before it, effectively overshadowing its immediate predecessor, Shaku Shaku. In 2014, he won the Airtel One Mic Talent Show held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and this gave him a platform to go on to do greater things for himself in the Nigerian music industry.
In late 2018, Zlatan Ibile released his hit single Zanku which got Nigerians dancing to the tunes as well as moving their bodies to the new new dance routine that came along with the song. “Zanku” is an acronym for “Zlatan Abeg No Kill Us”. Zlatan Ibile completed his primary and secondary education in Lagos. He later proceeded to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital for his tertiary education where he obtained a Higher National Diploma, HND in Business Administration.
Zlatan Ibile’s music career was launched upon his graduation from secondary school in the year 2011 and by the time he was 19 years old, he contested for and won the Airtel “One Mic Campus Tour” music competition held in Abeokuta in the year 2014.
He made his introduction into the Nigerian music scene in 2017 upon the release of his single titled My Body, a song which featured Olamide Badoo. The song proved to be a success after a video of Davido dancing to it surfaced on the internet. The video went viral and this sparked the beginning of the friendship between the two music stars. Zlatan Ibile further cemented his place in the Nigerian music industry, with a featured appearance in the song Able God by Chinko Ekun which proved a hit. The song also featured Nigerian rapper Lil Kesh.
After his hit song “Zanku” which was accompanied by a new dance routine of the same name, also known as “Leg Work”, Zlatan Ibile, in late 2018, released another hit song titled Osanle which featured Davido. He followed that up in 2019 with the release of Glory before appearing in Burna Boy’s hit single, Killin Dem. His popularity further strengthened when he was featured on Naira Marley’s hit single Am I a Yahoo Boy.

On July 26, 2019, Zlatan Ibile went public with his signed endorsement deal with Coca-Cola, a top soft drink manufacturer in the country for an undisclosed fee.
CONTROVERSY
In 2017, Zlatan Ibile courted with controversy when he began associating with a 9 year old boy. A controversial video of the boy named Segun Wire appeared on Instagram, where the little boy reportedly revealed his desires to become an internet fraudster but this turned out to be a joke. When Zlatan Ibile found the boy’s video on the internet, he decided to take the joke to another level by creating an Instagram account for the boy and promoting him as a comedian on the realization that the boy was talented in that line.
Zlatan Ibile got in touch with the boy and decided to send him to a private school and made financial provision for his upkeep but things hit a brick wall in 2018 when it was alleged that Zlatan Ibile was using the little boy as a tool for extortion. It was also reported that some thugs related to the family of the young boy attacked and assaulted Zlatan Ibile, which led to the end of his relationship with the young boy and after a few weeks, he released a song with Harrysong to explain himself to his fans.
In April 2019, Zlatan Ibile was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC with Naira Marley and two others in connection with an alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering. He was subsequently released after it was discovered that he was innocent. It is widely reported that Davido played a huge role in his release.
