Divine Ikubor, widely regarded by his stage name, Rema, is one of the most influential entertainers in Nigeria today. He is a rapper, singer, songwriter, stage performer, and recording artiste who is currently signed to Jonzing World Records, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, a top music label owned by Don Jazzy.

Born on May 1, 2000 in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, he gained wide media attention when in 2019, he released the song, Iron Man, which featured on former United States President, Barack Obama’s summer playlist for the year. Rema is a Christian and grew up in Edo State where he completed his primary and secondary education before facing music full time.

While growing up and attending secondary school in Benin City, Rema was known to have developed his singing and rapping skills at that tender stage of his life. As a matter of fact, his music career took off in 2015, when he was just 15 years old. He continued on this path and even created his own live band until he was discovered by D’Prince, the younger brother of Don Jazzy, and current Chief Executive Officer of Jonzing World Records.

Rema is also associated with Mavin Records and was unveiled as a new addition to the Supreme Mavin Dynasty on March 22, 2019. Two of his songs, “Iron Man” and Dumebi are some of the most loved and most played songs of 2019 in Nigeria.

He is one of the youngest Nigerian music stars in the industry whose songs have made it to the number one spot on most music billboard charts in the country. He is the first Nigerian music artiste to debut five top songs on Apple Music and all five songs are Boulevard, American Love, Spiderman, Trap Out, The Submarine and “Dumebi”. His eponymous debut EP, Rema, in 2019 peaked at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria.

Rema is a proud owner of some of the most luxurious cars in the country today. In his fleet, he owns the BMW Beamer after receiving the Honorary Membership Award from the BMW Club of Nigeria for his commitment and promotion of the brand in one of his hit singles, “Beamer” (Bad Boys).
